SEASON OF EXTRA-CURRICULA ACTIVITIES

The Nigerian education system stipulates that elementary and secondary schools throughout the country should engage pupils/students in extra-curricular activities such as sports. Many schools are currently observing the yearly routine.

Extra Academic activities otherwise referred to as extra-curricular activities are officially organised by schools for students but the activities do not have academic credit. Participation in such activities is voluntary.

BENEFITS TO LEARNERS
Children's involvement in the activities help them to develop life skills.The key benefits include:

*Learning Time Management & Prioritisation Skill
The competitive and timing nature of the activities expose and enable children to acquire such skills

*Diverse Interest
It gives opportunity to children to learn and express interest in other areas of life apart from academic.

Participation in extra-curricular activities trains children on how to express or demonstrate commitment in to any course in life.

*Self Esteem
It builds self esteem in children through participation. Inferiority complex is also addressed and corrected through  the measure.

*Relationship Management 
Children learn how to build and nurture relationship with others.

*Profile Enrichment
 It adds more value to the worth of a child in term of capacity or potential for other activities besides  academic works.
