OSUN STATE: CRISIS LOOMS IN SCHOOLS

Following the judgement of the state's high court passed within the week that female muslim students have a human right to wear Hijab in schools. The christian counterparts have decided also to do the same.

The Osun State Christian Association of Nigeria (OSCAN) has directed all its members and affiliates to mobilise all christian students and pupils in the state to put on their church robes and other religious uniforms to schools effective from Monday June 13, 2016. The decision is a response to the court's verdict on human rights of the female muslim students and pupils.

Stakeholders have expressed concerns on the fall-out of the judgement. That the judgement may destroy the education system in the state.
