The Oyo state government has made real her intention to privatise public secondary schools in the state.The decision might not be unconnected with the economic recession in the state. 'Exemption Of Interest' forms are officially made available for purchase in the state's ministry of education by interested persons and organisations.
The implication of this policy is that, more children may be denied access to education as some existing students in the affected schools may drop out due to inability to afford new and increased fees that will be charged by new owners.
